Our rooms were beautifully decorated and well-kept with great bed, a mini- fridge, as example. The location was convenient, at a moderate distance from Gander Mall.

As we stayed only one (1) night, we were unable to fully asses the overall status of the hotel, however during that brief stay we were very comfortable and relaxed. It accomadated our needs.
Some of the lighting fixtures weren't working, plus the hair dryer didn't work.

The location is very convenient with easy access to local attractions.
The air conditioning unit was excessively noisy, making it hard to sleep.

Savoury food selection. Extremely comfy bed in the standard double room, plus an electronic key card, a work desk and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Location next to the construction zone, the restaurant. Also, to local places.

location. and management very understanding
was not told upon booking there would be a wedding taking place in a ballroon directly above us.....party contiuned until 430 am...did not get any sleep at all ...to be honest it was like being in the basement of a dance bar while the party was going on.... we stayed 2 nights... night one was fine but we should have been worned of our room when booking. called the night of the party to ask if anything can be done and was advised to call to talk to management in the morning, i was handled very well and based on the understanding of her i left with some content of the whole stay..i was given the second night free

missingWrote a review on 13 Septcomfy bedspotless bathroomcharming gardennoise gap
The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was spotless, which made us feel right at home. We loved hanging out by the pool and enjoying some quiet moments in the charming garden area. Only downside was that there was a small gap around the door that let in a bit of noise from the hallway, but it didn’t ruin our trip at all. 😊

We stayed two nights in two different rooms (July 11 and 12, 2012). The first night was booked on-line -- we booked the rooms separately (as we weren't sure we would still be in the area the next day). The first night we were in Rm 257, it was nice and clean with 2 double beds, quite comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The girl at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We appreciate that you are a pet-friendly hotel, that is the main reason we booked with you as we were travelling with a small dog.
The second night my husband phoned the hotel to make a booking. The man that answered the phone said it would be no problem getting a room -- to just come in. He didn't even take our name or info so we figured, there must be some nice rooms still available. We were given a room at the back of the hotel on the first floor which would have been fine but the room did not have air conditioning and it was a very warm night. So, my husband phoned front desk and asked if we could have another room with air conditioning. The man at the front desk said he would do his best. So, as instructed we waited in the room to hear back from him...25 minutes later he rebooked us in another room on 2nd floor. This room was quite small, one double bed and was a long distance to walk. I believe the number was 236. We did not particularly like that room. The only good thing was the flat screen TV. We paid the same price for both rooms but the first one was much nicer. I believe the rate of $110 should have gotten us a nicer room than one with only one bed and so far from the main area. Also, the first night was booked online so all info was provided but once arriving at hotel, I still had to fill out a form to stay that night. I have not encountered that in years. Once you have a confirmed booking on-line and have used your credit card, I do not see why more info has to be filled out by hand. Yes, I agree with signing a form but having to fill one out is a minor irritation. If we ever stay at The Albatross again, we will ensure we book a room with two beds with air conditioning as it is a nicer room --- and one that is easier to access. Thank you for the opportunity to provide comments.

It was close to where we needed to go and in walking distance.

missingWrote a review on 11 Septcharming architectureeasy accessdated carpets
There are some decent aspects, like the easy access on the ground floor and a surprisingly charming architectural style. The location gives you the vibe of old-school hospitality, reminiscent of a simpler time.
The room left much to be desired. The carpets are dated, with stains and obvious signs of wear. Air conditioning doesn't do its job effectively, leaving it hot at times. The hallways are dark, musty, and feel neglected, contributing to a general feeling of unease. I noticed the lack of outlets for electronics, pretty inconvenient in our tech-driven world. On top of that, I found the pricing to be on the high side for what's offered.

Close to restaurant and the road on Trans Canada. Good breakfast at the hotel
Rooms use to be smoking rooms and you still can smell it. I would consider this place as a 2 stars no more.

They have very friendly, excellent staff at the front desk. The rooms are adequate and comfortable. Great location right on the Trans Canada Route # 1. Very nice restaurant with courteous staff and good food.
